Steinhatchee State Park PassesTake a day trip to one of several nearby State Parks featuring some of the largest natural springs in the world. Econfina River State Park
Boating and camping enthusiasts enjoy the Park's 3,377 acres on the Gulf of Mexico. With pine flatlands, oak and palm forests and salt marsh dotted with pine islands, Econfina River State Park provides a vast landscape and scenic beauty waiting to be explored.

Fanning Springs State Park
One of Florida's 27 first magnitude springs, Fanning Springs releases approximately 50 million gallons of water each day with a constant temperature of 72 degrees Fahrenheit. Popular activities include fishing, diving, swimming and hiking the nature trail.

Forest Capital Museum State Park
This museum interprets the history of Florida's vast timber industry and identifies more than 5,000 products derived from Florida's forest. Native long-leaf pines dot the grounds and form a canopy over a Cracker Homestead Interpretive Site, a replica of a turn of the century north Florida Homestead. Every October, the Park is the site of the Florida Forest Festival that attracts thousands of tourists.

Ichetucknee Springs State Park
Offering many activities for visitors, the Ichetucknee is most popular for tubing down a six-mile stretch before it joins the Santa Fe River. Tubing is available for a nominal fee from the South End anytime of the year and from the North End from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The Ichetucknee River comprises a series of springs producing 233 million gallons of clear, sparkling water daily. Other popular activities include canoeing, hiking, swimming and picnicking in this truly beautiful Park.

Peacock Springs State Park
With only 288 acres, this Park may be small, but it is part of the most extensive underwater cave system known in the United States. 33,000 feet of passages have been surveyed and mapped by cave divers. The Park attracts thousands of serious divers each year from around the world. Some of the world's best-known cave diving instructors are available for instructional or guide purposes. Divers must be certified for cave diving.

St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge
Established in 1931 and referred to as "St. Marks Migratory Bird Refuge", this property provides a winter habitat for thousands of migratory ducks and geese. Encompassing 68,000 acres on Florida's Gulf Coast, St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge provides habitat protection and enhancement for endangered species, migratory birds and resident wildlife. Each fall the Refuge is a stopover for the Monarch butterfly as it migrates from the U.S. to Mexico. The Refuge also serves visitors with quality outdoor recreation and educational activities.

Wakulla Springs State Park
Wakulla Springs with 2,860 acres is one of the largest and deepest freshwater springs in the world. A majority of the year the water temperature is a constant 70 degrees. On April 11, 1973, a record peak flow from the spring was recorded at 14,325 gallons per second, equal to 1.2 billion gallons per day! Visitors may swim or explore the deep spring in a glass bottom or tour boat that provides an opportunity to clearly see the mouth of the cavern 125 feet below and experience wildlife, especially alligators, first-hand. Wakulla was the site where several Tarzan movies and the Black Lagoon were made.

Manatee Springs State Park
Manatee Springs State Park spreads across 2,075 acres of land ranging from swamps to cypress forests. Over 100 million gallons of water flow from the spring daily and it is a popular hangout for manatees, especially during the warmer months. Camping fishing, swimming, canoeing, picnicking, hiking and biking are among the activities available in the park.
